FAQS

Your questions answered

Below are answers to some of the questions we get asked about our courses. If you have a query we haven’t covered here, feel free to contact us with your question.

What qualifications will I get?

Essential Beauty Training Certificates and Diplomas certificates carry accreditation from a major industry body. This indicates that you have been trained to a very high standard and will allow you to obtain Insurance for you to practise as a therapist.

What is special about your Certificates and Diplomas?

Some fast-track courses issue a Certificate of Attendance but have no assessment criteria. We will assess you both in your written work and your practical work and you will be graded accordingly.
These assessments are equal to that of Beauty Courses at a Further Education College and you will receive a copy of what is expected from you at enrollment. Afterwards, you will receive full details of the marks you attained so that you can build a portfolio to show to future employers.

Where will the Training be carried out?

We can train you either at our base in Swindon, Wiltshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Sheffield or in your own Salon. Please telephone us to see how we can accommodate you ( please see Terms and Conditions).

We offer training on any days and can be completely flexible depending on your needs . You can secure a new date or join an existing course date (see website for details). Courses will only carry a maximum of 4 students at any one time so you are guaranteed full attention during practical sessions. Private training is available at an extra charge. In-house training discounts may apply. (Please contact us for a quote).

How do I pay for my courses?

We can accept payment by direct bank transfer or paypal (charges may apply)
We ask for a 50% deposit to secure a booking on larger course bookings or a £50 deposit for individual courses with the balance paid at least 7-14 days prior to the course date depending on payment method. ( See Terms and Conditions)

In the case of our workshops where theory is maybe not as important as the practical element, you will turn up on the day and theory and practical work will be learned in one session. You will then be assessed practically but may have to answer some theory questions verbally to get your grade. With the workshops, 50% deposit will be required to secure your place with the remaining balance paid in full at least 7-14 days prior to the course date.

Why should I choose your courses?

We are passionate about Beauty Therapy and want to share our skills!! We have over 20 years knowledge in the Beauty Industry, in various different areas and covering all aspects of the profession. We are trained to Level 3 standard, hold teaching qualifications and have experience in both the private and Further Education College sectors.
We believe in helping students from all backgrounds and abilities to develop skills in the Beauty Industry that will secure them a lifelong profession. A job in the Beauty Industry is a wonderful career to follow and students should be encouraged to develop first class techniques to ensure lifelong job satisfaction.
We are very flexible and will try to accommodate you in all sorts of different ways.
We want to provide you with a Certificate or Diploma of an exceptional standard and shows your worth as a therapist. By following practical and written assessments it allows future employers to see what you have achieved.
We will keep up to date with new trends as much as possible and offer courses/workshops to keep you completely up to date with new trends.
We will provide you with on going support after your course and will hold trouble shooting sessions with other students to guide you on your way!

What happens if I fail an assessment?

Because we are able to guide you with your study should you need it and you will be receiving almost one to one attention on our practical days, this should not happen. If it does then you can re-take either the theory or practical module for free at a time in agreement with both the school and the student. ( This applies to ONE re-take only in both theory and practical. Should you fail that module again you would need to pay a nominal fee to re-take a second time.)

What do I need to wear on the Practical course days?

If you already have a therapist’s tunic then we ask that you wear this. However, if you don’t have a tunic then we ask you to wear all black, smart casual but no jeans please. Jewellery should be kept to a small pair of studs in the ears and a plain wedding band. Hair if long should be tied back neatly from the face. You should appear, smart, clean and understated.

What equipment will I train with?

All the equipment for your course will be provided for you. We are also able to provide you with details of  kits for each course that we teach should you wish to buy them. These will be sent out to you in your welcome pack should you request it. You can order them through us either before or after your course date.
We might need you to bring a model for you to practice your practical skills on. This will be discussed with you at enrollment.

Do I receive on-going support from the school after qualifying?

Yes! We will be able to help you in a few different ways. You will be able to leave your comments or questions on the Blog on our website to chat with other students, you can send your questions to our email address using the contact us form on our website or you can join our Forums that will be held once every few months to meet and chat to other students and your tutor to monitor your progress. The Forums will be run at a small cost to each student. However, they will be run as trouble shooting sessions and can involve extra practical help if needed. Please keep an eye out on our website for details of when these sessions will run.
